Would you like to refresh your One Page Business Plan? Perhaps try out a new customer persona and see if there’s an opportunity there for an additional revenue stream? Now’s your chance. Mark will be running his popular One Page Business Plan Workshop this Saturday (tomorrow), and Get Work Done Club paid subscribers can join for free with your promo code! For all other Startup School alumni, the cost is £15.
The Moving Forward monthly group call is on Saturday, 19th October, at 10 a.m. As a Startup School for Seniors alumni, this is your chance to share your wins and challenges, ask questions, and receive feedback As of December 21st, the monthly group call will only be open to paid Get Work Done subscribers.
Mark and I have been running this group for the past four years as part of our commitment to helping you stay on track without receiving any compensation. Our funding covers us to deliver Startup School for Seniors but not the work we believe is essential to helping you stay on track with your business.
As a result, we started the Get Work Done Club and have packed it full of benefits, which include a monthly power hour, 15-minute office hours with Mark and me, free workshops, and, starting in December, the monthly Moving Forward group session. At £9.99/month or £99/year, the price of two cups of coffee represents excellent value, and current members see the benefits of joining.
You can turn on or off your subscription anytime, so you will not have to pay if you are away. The annual membership represents a savings of nearly £20. You can also gift a subscription if you’d like to forward it to a person who can not afford to join.
We look forward to seeing you this Saturday and welcoming you to the Get Work Done Club as a member.
GWDC Members, book your next GWDC 1:2:1 session with Suzanne or Mark here.
Suzanne’s Office Hours are on October 18th this month.
The next Get Work Done Power Hour is on 2nd November.
AI Writing Prompts
If you write frequently, as I do, then you will find these ChatGPT writing prompts improve your writing and the speed at which you can create content.
I don’t believe in letting the AI generate posts from scratch as, even at the best of times, and suggesting a particular famous writer’s tone of voice, and I still find the writing to be flat and uninspiring.
Prompt 1: “Write this for more clarity.” I find this prompt tightens up my writing, and avoids using superfluous words.
Prompt 2: “Improve for grammar, clarity, and persuasiveness.” I use this prompt to tighten my writing and make the text more focused on generating a sale or increasing the desire to buy.
Prompt 3: “Summarise this to [x] words with the focus being on [your intention].” I use this to summarise long-form text, and it is handy when filling in applications where you already have the answers but need to conform to a specific word count. Note that it may take a few tries to get right, as I’ve noticed that it’s not always accurate regarding character count.
Grammarly is the one writing tool that I always have on and for which I pay an annual subscription. I know there are other tools, such as Hemingway, that some people prefer, but I’m a Grammarly fan. As a rule, I don’t adhere strictly to what it suggests as it can remove the personality from your writing; however, on the whole, I find that if you’re seeking to be more succinct, it’s a valuable tool.
I’m curious to hear what AI tools you use and recommend. Leave your suggestions in the comments.
Until next time,
Suzanne
I love your AI prompts. I ask ChatGPT for ideas on what to write about - but usually find the answers a bit dull and predictable. Best use for me is asking for feedback know something I've drafted. This generates specifics on things like overly long sentences, as well as overall balance points eg where a section would benefit from an example, where piece dies off a bit at the end
