Feeling Overwhelmed in Your Business?
Here’s Mark’s Rescue Method.
Managing a portfolio career can be stressful, especially with family issues, moving, and financial pressures. I use a method to regain control based on Mind Mapping. You only need a pen and paper—this process takes about two hours, but you’ll feel relief in just thirty minutes. Follow these five steps:
Map It Out
Start with a blank sheet of paper. Write "On My Plate" in the centre and list everything on your mind—both personal and professional. Don't worry about neatness; get it all out. After about 20 minutes, organize your thoughts by clustering related tasks.Reflect on Your Thoughts
Assess how you feel after mapping things out. Are your worries as serious as you thought? Identify what you’re willing to do for free versus what you’d like to charge for.Identify Forgotten Tasks
Review your existing plans and lists to see what you’ve overlooked. Colour-code your Mind Map to prioritise tasks.Plan Your Next Steps
Determine which tasks need more or less attention. Update your to-do list, removing unimportant items and grouping similar tasks.Forgive Yourself
Acknowledge that it’s impossible to do everything. Focus on manageable tasks and say no to free work when necessary. Alternate between challenging tasks and those that bring you joy.
